In two days, there will be a competition between anyone willing to participate in an impromptu arena. The contest will test the melee skills of everyone involved, and provide much needed entertainment to whatever crowd may gather. There has never been such a sight in this city to my knowledge, and I doubt there will ever be again. The winner will be able to boast for her entire life. At the very least, any participant will be able to say that they have experienced a once in a lifetime event.
The acceptable weapons will be the sword, the lance, the mace, the axe, and the whip. All weapons will be tested to make sure they are completely blunt before the event begins. Armor is recommended, but not required.
This is an event to boost the spirit of the city, meaning your participation could make all the difference. A certain degree of skill to allow showmanship is recommended. You are after all not only fighting to win, but to win the hearts of the audience.
To winner of the competition, in addition to glory, there will be a lovely cake made by my wife that you may enjoy however you choose.
